Comments:

Went to MSC, now named something else again. Played football 2 yrs there, after football lost interest so played Army for a couple of years. I didn't like being shot at, so got out and moved to San Diego to keep warm. Got married and had kids. California rat race got too intense to raise kids so back to Mn. where life is good. We have a little cabin at duck lake with Greg and Lynda Gemlo. We enjoy the change of seasons and the good old midwestern people.

School Story:

I remember the time I got Michelle Patterson's report card by mistake. Her grades made my parents very happy, probably not so with Michelle's parents.

Michael Patterson has left an In Memory comment for John Schnabel.

John was "one of a kind."  If someone said a stupid joke that wasn't funny, John's laugh always made me laugh anyway.

When I was living in San diego, I was told a story about John getting pulled over.  He drifted, briefly, into the river at Sibley Park.  The officer asked for his license and he gave him his fishing license.  I never did ask John if this was true, although it surely sounded like John and I'm going with that.

Greg Gemlo and I visited John a few days before he passed away.  At first it was a sad experience, but after a little while John came back from a dark place and belted out his infectious laugh.  That is how I will remember him.  I think he would be ok with that.

Rest in peace. I will see you later up or down the road.  Either way you will make it fun, as usual.
