Linda Wendt (Pessek) 1949 - 2011
Linda Margaret Pessek was born on August 6, 1949, in Mankato, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Walter and Jane (Sweiger) Baker. Linda was baptized as an infant in Mankato. Linda received her elementary education in Mankato and was a graduate of the Mankato High School Class of 1967.
On August 9, 1981, Linda was united in marriage to Thomas Pessek in Hutchinson. Linda was blessed with 3 children, Mary, Thomas and Tim. Linda and Tom resided in Hutchinson and were blessed with 27 years of marriage, until Tom passed away on April 24, 2009.
Linda held employment as a bartender at The Velvet Coach, the American Legion Post #96 and was a manager at Georges Food and Fuel in Hutchinson for many years. She also worked as a security guard for Knights Security at Menards in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Linda was a member of Faith Luthern Church in Hutchinson and the American Legion Post #96 Auxiliary.
Linda enjoyed watching her sons, grandson, and "adopted" sons at races every weekend. She was an avid collector of Dale Earnhardt memorabilia. If she wasn't at the race track, she was in the kitchen cooking and baking, or out shopping for everyone. Linda especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and her pets.
Linda passed away unexpectedly at her home in Hutchinson on April 15, 2001 at the age of 61 years. She will be dearly missed.
