Roger J. Scheurer, age 77, of Kasota, died July, 28, 2024, at his home. 

A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m., Saturday at Northview. Family interment will be in Barnard Valley View Cemetery, rural Good Thunder. Memorials may be given to St. Croix Hospice, Kasota Fire Department, or the donor’s choice.

Roger was born July 7, 1947, to Louis and Beulah (Hegwood) Scheurer in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1967 and Mankato Vocational School with a degree in tool and die machinist. He worked at Kato Engineering while going to school. Roger started building tractor cab in a farm shop with Kenny Hiniker in the summer of 1970. Roger was instrumental in the creation and expansion of Hiniker Company. He saw many changes in the agricultural industry throughout the 50 years of employment there. Roger retired in 2019 to enjoy his Florida home. 

Roger was united in marriage to Mary Hollerich on June 7, 1969, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Good Thunder. Last month they celebrated 55 years together.

Roger was a member of Knights of Columbus and the Red Men Club in St. Peter. Roger loved his job at Hiniker Company, enjoyed vacationing in Florida, watching westerns, happy hour and conversation with friends and watching the wildlife outside his Man Cave. 

Roger is survived his wife, Mary; children, Chris (Michelle) Scheurer, Tony (Tracy) Scheurer, Julie (Jon) Hudrlik, and Gary (Diana) Scheurer; grandchildren, Sami and Charlie Hudrlik, Dani (Josh Smith) Hudrlik, Alyssa (Dylan) Deegan and Blaine Filand; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Rosemarie Schmidt, Jim (Jane) Scheurer, Alan (Ginny) Scheurer, Rich (Katie) Scheurer, Vicki (Mark) Eckes, and Kathy (Jim) Mongeau; sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie Scheurer, Don (Jennifer) Hollerich, Joan Robbins, Barb (Mike) Lynch, Sue (Calvin) Baarts, Kathy (Larry) Caven, Teresa (Mark) Depuydt, Dave (Pam) Hollerich, and Lori (Scott) Friedrichs; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chuck and Jerry and Scheurer; brothers-in-law, Milty Schmidt and Jim Robbins; sisters-in-law, LuAnn Hollerich and Nancy Hollerich.
