John Bassett 1949 - 1965

John P. Bassett, 16, of 224 Mound Avenue, died of cancer at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He had been ill for a year and a half and was a junior at Mankato High School

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bassett, and five brothers, Robert, Richard, Bill, James, Fred all at home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bassett of Mankato and a maternal grandfather, Sig Bauer of Albert Lea.

There will be a prayer service Friday at 8 p.m. at Landkamer Mortuary with the requiem mass set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
