Scott Leslie McGowan, 74, of Mason City, passed away January 13, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Scott was born in Mankato, Minnesota on November 8, 1949. His parents were Roger and LaVonne (Patten) McGowan. He graduated from Mankato High School with the class of 1967. After high school, he served with the National Guard for 6 years. For a number of years, Scott painted signs with his dad. When his dad retired. Scott took over the business. In 1993, he began working on restaurant equipment. This led to him building his own business, Scott's Services where he continued the same work. He was united in marriage to Christina Nattress January 19, 2008 in Mason City.

Scott was a member of the First Covenant Church in Mason City. He was very good at working with his hands. He loved fixing things and was very talented at creating beautiful pieces of furniture and other things. Scott's pride in his works is reflected in the remodeling of his and Christina's home. His work truly made it beautiful.

Those left to cherish him are his wife, Christina; his son, Andy McGowan of Albert Lea, MN; daughter, Shelley (Jake) Lee of St. Cloud, MN; stepson, Cory (Ashley) Ahl of Bettendorf, IA; beloved dog, Tucker; grandchildren, Kristal (Johnnie) Philipp, Dylan Lee, Mariah Galbreath, Mackenzie Ahl, and Grant Ahl; sisters, Kathleen(Tom)Brunz, and Joleen Spelbrink; parents-In-law, Dale(Kathy)Nattress of Fremont, NE and, Jeannie Carey (partner Bruce) of Omaha, AR; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; and many aunts and uncles.
