Picture of EAGLE LAKE — Dennis Lenertz, 61, of Eagle Lake, died on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at his home.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Lake Church of Christ with Rev. Jeff Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, from 4-8 p.m. at Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery.

Dennis was born on June 14, 1949, in Mankato to Jerome and Vivian (Berentson) Lenertz. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1967. On February 22, 1980, Dennis was united in marriage to Deborah Cline in Mankato. Dennis was an auto mechanic with Gene's Repair in Eagle Lake. He had a love for woodworking and shared his work with many people. He enjoyed motorcycling, grilling, and smoking meats. He made homemade beef jerky. Dennis loved traveling, especially to Duluth. He built a fish pond and enjoyed working on it every year.

He is survived by his wife Debbie of Eagle Lake; two sons, Dan Lenertz and Tim (Mandy) Auringer all of Eagle Lake; four grandchildren, Maren, Maisey, Malia, and Wil Auringer; siblings, Steven (Patricia) Lenertz of Hackensack, MN, Karen (Steven) Poulson of New Ulm, and Dale (Gail) Lenertz of Mankato; sister-in-law, Jeanne Lenertz of Bloomington; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Curtis, Keven, and Thomas, and brother, Gerald
